Happily Ever After
I wonder who whispered that fairy tale lie
That joy would stretch forever beneath one's sky
They called it happily ever after
But forgot the chapters filled with tears and laughter
Happiness is not still, she moves and sways
Rises in mornings, fades some days
She is the sun and the rain, the soft and the rough
Proof that loving yourself is already more than enough
What does forever joy even mean?
Bliss with no mess, no space in between?
No storm to test the roots that grow?
No pause to breathe, no ebb, no flow?
Maybe happily is not about perfection
But grace in the mirror, soul reflection
It is compassion when the heart feels torn
Understanding that peace must be reborn
So no, not happily ever after is not some fairy spell she is
Just living, loving and learning herself well
Flowing through the turbulence, soft yet strong
Finding happiness in moments all along
