Beyond the Great Beyond
I do not wish to return to this loud and restless world.
When my time comes, I will not turn back toward unfinished lessons
or circles that keep repeating themselves.
I will walk beyond the great beyond,
past the questions,
past the debts,
past the burdens I was never meant to carry forever.
I release the karmic classrooms
that no longer nourish my spirit.
I release the belief
that suffering is the price of wisdom.
Instead, I choose peace.
I choose the quiet presence of God.
I choose the everlasting home
prepared long before I arrived here.
And I shall dwell
in the house of the Lord forever
not searching,
not striving,
not returning,
but finally resting
in a love that asks nothing more of me
than to come home.
