Dear Mom,

Another summer season is approaching without you. For the first time in a long time, I am not anxious about the upcoming Memorial Day weekend celebrations. Most of the time when I’ am invited to cookouts, I decline. This year, I just might try something different.  

I also wanted to thank you for visiting me in your own special way, without me killing myself, not scared of you, but hesitant, you know me. I appreciate our car rides together. I’m still not particular about make-up and clothing, but I can hear you in my head when something is even the least bit off.  I know, I know, I’m still a representation of you.

Tell everyone that I said hello.
